Another quote by Dr. Martin Luther King.
☁️⠀
There are people in our lives right now who invest a lot of their energy continuously seeking our attention + our time telling us what they think about who they are, who we are, what we should be doing with our time + how we should be listening to what they have to say about it. And often times when they feel they aren’t being heard, are no where to be found when we might actually need help or guidance.⠀
•⠀
There are also people in our lives that say very little if not close to nothing but are always present in our lives and often make an even greater effort when we need them and immediately get out of our way once they’ve done what they can so that we can get back to leading our own lives.⠀

There’s a saying I always heard growing up which is something like “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” which I guess means something like those who seek attention will get it more than those who don’t. But what about the wheels that never squeak? What if we shifted our attention to the ones that silently work for us + with us? The ones who carry us through our lives without fanfare or spectacle. How would that change us? What if we replaced all the squeaky wheels in our lives with silent ones?⠀

I’m extremely grateful today for people like Dr. Martin Luther King for being in the world + creating the opportunity for me to learn how I want to be in the world. Thank you man.
